About the Author

About John

John is a Scotland-based writer of epic fantasy. He grew up on the west side of Edinburgh during the seventies and eighties, before leaving home to make all his own mistakes — and, by his own admission, never quite learning from them.

Outside fiction, he has worked in people-focused support roles and in technical fault investigation within manufacturing — two very different worlds, both useful for understanding how things break, and what it takes to hold them together.

He spent seven years serving as part of a local volunteer Coast Guard cliff rescue team, an experience that left its mark — shaping his sense of tension, consequence, and the thin line between control and chaos that often runs through his work.

His writing explores themes of loneliness, belonging, found family, and the quiet weight of old promises. This site is home to his fiction projects, interactive maps, and the growing archive of the worlds he is building.
